Zach Davies takes the loss in Game 2 on Wednesday

by Jon Mathisen | Thu, Oct 8th 12:11pm EDT

Zach Davies took the loss on Wednesday when he surrendered four runs on nine hits with three strikeouts and zero walks across five innings in the Padres 6-5 loss to the Dodgers in Game 2 of the NLDS.

Fantasy Impact:

Davies did all he could to limit to potent Dodgers offense and pitched better than his stat line would indicate. He made it through the first two inning without allowing a run and didn't walk a batter during his outing. He was tagged for three runs in the third inning and Cody Bellinger put on the finishing touches with a solo blast in the fourth. Davies has struggled in the postseason compared to his stellar regular season but that's to be expected with the increased level of competition. The Padres will go with Adrian Morejon as their opener on Thursday in hopes of staving off elimination.
