Additionally, Kopech has been in touch with his minor league pitching coaches. The 24-year-old top prospect opted out of the 2020 season amid the coronavirus pandemic. He'll enter spring training fully recovered from his 2018 Tommy John surgery. Kopech could begin the year in Chicago's rotation if everything goes as planned.
