Max Fried excellent in no-decision in Game 1 on Monday

by Jon Mathisen | Braves Correspondent | Mon, Oct 12th 11:43pm EDT

Max Fried was sharp on Monday when he allowed just one run on four hits with nine strikeouts and two walks over six innings in the Braves 5-1 win over the Dodgers in Game 1 of the NLCS.

Fantasy Impact:

Fried did an excellent job on Monday, possessing pinpoint command of his fastball and mixing in his curveball to keep the Dodgers off balance. His lone mistake was hanging a breaking ball to Kike Hernandez who jacked it over the left field wall in the bottom of the fifth inning. Fried's nine strikeouts were the most he's notched all season as well. The Braves, who have yet to lose a playoff game this year, will look to go up 2-0 in the series on Tuesday when Ian Anderson takes the mound.
