Victor Gonzalez gets Game 6 win as Dodgers take home title

by Jon Mathisen | Yankees Correspondent | Tue, Oct 27th 11:50pm EDT

Victor Gonzalez earned the win on Tuesday as he allowed no runs and no hits while striking out three over 1 1/3 innings in the Dodgers 3-1 win over the Rays to clinch the World Series title.

Fantasy Impact:

Gonzalez replaced Pedro Baez in the top of the fifth inning with two outs and a runner on base and was able to induce an Austin Meadows ground out to end the inning. He then came back out for the sixth inning and struck out the side. The Dodgers took the lead in the following frame while Gonzalez was still the pitcher of record so he was credited with the win. The Dodgers took home their first World Series title since way back in 1988.
