Abreu was named as one of the three finalists announced for the 2020 MVP award. He led the majors in RBI (60) and averaged an RBI-per-game in a shortened 2020 campaign. The 33-year-old 1B led the AL in hits (76) and slugging percentage (.617). Abreu was one of the main reasons the White Sox clinched a playoff berth in 2020. slashing .317/.370/.617 with 19 home runs, 60 RBI, 43 runs scored over 262 plate appearances.
