The Red Sox are looking to add pitching to the team’s starting rotation and expressed interest in free agent RHP Matt Shoemaker. He started Game 1 for the Blue Jays during the ALDS in 2020. Shoemaker owned a (0-1) record along with 4.71 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and a 26:9 K:BB over 28 2/3 innings last season. The 34-year-old would be an immediate upgrade to a Red Sox rotation that struggled mightily in 2020.
