Trey Mancini (cancer) expects to be ready for spring training

by Brendan Tuma | Wed, Nov 11th 12:25pm EST

Orioles 1B/OF Trey Mancini (cancer) told reporters Wednesday that he feels "totally like myself" and that he would be ready for spring training if it started tomorrow. (Joe Trezza on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

"There is no reason for me to believe if Spring Training started tomorrow, I wouldn’t be ready to go. Because I would" were Mancini's exact words. This is terrific news after the 28-year-old was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in his colon back in the spring. Mancini finished chemotherapy in September and recently began taking batting practice. He belted 35 homers and posted an .899 OPS back in 2019.
