Freeman beat out finalists Mookie Betts and Manny Machado for the 2020 NL MVP. He received 28-of-30 first place votes. Freeman was terrific in a shortened 2020 campaign, slashing .341/.462/.640 with 23 doubles, 13 home runs, 53 RBI, 51 runs scored and two stolen bases over 262 plate appearances.
