Tommy Pham being tendered contract by Padres ahead of Wednesday's deadline

The San Diego Padres plan to tender outfielder Tommy Pham a contract ahead of Wednesday's 8 pm non-tender deadline, according to The Athletic's Dennis Lin. Lin adds that had there had been speculation that the left fielder would be non-tendered as the Padres look for ways to reallocate payroll. Pham could be due to make approximately $8 million in 2021. Pham, 32, had a down first year in San Diego, batting .211 with 13 runs scored, three home runs, 12 RBI, and six stolen bases while playing in 31 games as he dealt with injuries. However, he is just one season removed from batting .273 with 77 runs scored, 21 home runs, 68 RBI, and 25 stolen bases in 145 games.
