Jason Grilli named Braves closer

by Steve Painter | Mon, Apr 6th 1:57pm EDT

Grilli will assume the duties vacated by the departed Craig Kimbrel in Sunday's blockbuster trade with San Diego. His last productive year was in 2013 with the Pirates, when he had 33 saves. Grilli is 38 years old but he pitched well this spring, with a 2.25 ERA along with a 0.75 WHIP over eight innings. (David O'Brien on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

He has value in most fantasy formats simply because he will get you saves this year. While certainly not elite he can be added if still available. Jim Johnson will serve as the setup man for holds. The downside is saves and holds will be somewhat limited for the Braves this season.
