Trevor Bauer is too expensive for the Reds and "will be pitching elsewhere next year," per Jon Heyman of MLB Network. (Jon Heyman on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
This shouldn't come as a surprise as the Reds appear to be rebuilding a bit after non-tendering and trading away some pieces this offseason. They did make an effort to try and keep Bauer around with a qualifying offer back in November but they've been ruled out of the sweepstakes. The reigning NL Cy Young award winner stands to make a lot of money next season, wherever he ends up. Due to the QO they issued, Cincinnati will receive a draft pick once he signs with another team.
