James Paxton (elbow) holds throwing session for scouts

by Jon Mathisen | Mariners Correspondent | Wed, Dec 23rd 2:05am EST

Free agent pitcher James Paxton hit 94 mph at a throwing session that he held for scouts, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network. (Jon Morosi on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

"As many as 20 teams were in attendance" for the throwing session, per Morosi. Paxton was limited to five starts in 2020 with an elbow issue but has been generating some interest this offseason according to his agent Scott Boras. It's a great sign to see the big left-hander hit 94 on the gun, which should generate even more buzz. Despite his lengthy injury history, the "Big Maple" holds a career 3.58 ERA and 1.21 WHIP across 753 1/3 innings.
