Free agent 1B/2B DJ LeMahieu is reportedly finalizing a contract with the New York Yankees. A deal could happen as soon as Friday. (Jon Morosi on Twitter)

The Yankees were reportedly the front runner to re-sign LeMahieu and it could happen as soon as Friday. The details of the contract have yet to be announced. He declined his one-year, $18.9 million qualifying offer with the Yankees back in November. LaMahieu has been excellent the last two seasons and is currently 30th overall in the latest expert consensus draft rankings. Stay tuned.
