After the Dodgers traded Ross Stripling to the Blue Jays in the middle of the 2020 season, he and the Jays now agree to a $3 million deal. Roster Resource projects him as their 5th starter. (Bob Nightengale on Twitter)
In 2020, Ross Stripling stumbled upon a bit of a rough patch with a 5.84 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, 18.2% strikeout rate, and 8.2% walk rate in 49.1 innings. That ended up as Stripling's worst season to date. He didn't perform well outside of his first start of the season, where he recorded seven strikeouts, zero walks, and one earned run in seven innings. Look for him to bounceback in 2021 since the underlying metrics tell us he was unlucky in 2020.
