Adam Ottavino traded to Boston Red Sox

Fantasy Impact:
This is the first Red Sox-Yankees trade since Stephen Drew for Kelly Johnson back in 2014. The Yankees also included prospect right-hander Frank German, which essentially makes this a salary dump for New York. Ottavino's surface level stats give some cause for concern, notably a 5.89 ERA in 24 appearances. However, the majority of that can be explained away by a six-run outing on September 7th where Ottavino didn't record an out. The 35-year-old still posted 12.3 K/9 and a 3.52 FIP. It's unclear what role he'll assume in Boston's bullpen.
