Paul Goldschmidt goes 3-for-4, hits first homer

by Tony Pontecorvo | Cardinals Correspondent | Sat, Apr 11th 2:47am EDT

Paul Goldschmidt hit his first home run of the season with two men on off the Dodgers' Brett Anderson in the third inning of the Diamondbacks' extra-inning win on Friday. He had two other hits in the victory, improving his (very) early season slashlines to .462/.588/.769.

Fantasy Impact:

It's always nice to get the first home run on the board early in the season, especially when your previous season ended in injury. Even more encouraging is the opposite-field nature of the home run. If there were any issues lingering with the broken hand, it should've been more difficult to go yard going the other way.
