Brandon Morrow performs like number two in team debut

by LaShawn Encarnacion | Sat, Apr 11th 6:30am EDT

Brandon Morrow had his ace stuff Friday as the Padres defeated the San Francisco Giants 1-0. Morrow threw seven scoreless innings, allowing just four hits while walking three and striking out seven. When asked about his start, Morrow had this to say. "There were a lot of teams, where if I wanted to relieve, they wanted to talk to me. And there were also teams that would have given me a chance to start," Morrow said. "But coming here was a good opportunity for me. I didn't give a whole lot of teams a lot of chances… I knew where I wanted to be." (MLB.com)

Fantasy Impact:

When a pitcher like Brandon Morrow has his slider and change up going like he had against the Giants, his stuff can rival any number two starter in the league. So think of it like having two number two's in your rotation, definitely a pick up if on the waiver-wire.
