"It’s very difficult to predict what the coming months will look like," Birdich said. It's natural that the media would already be speculating about a possible Story trade as the young stud is a free agent at season's end. Following the Nolan Arenado trade, however, it's unclear what Colorado's plans are for 2021. Whether or not he's traded, it would be a surprise if Story wanted to remain with the Rockies past this year.
