As pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training, COVID-19 protocols continue to be enforced across MLB. On Wednesday, the Red Sox placed veteran catcher Kevin Plawecki on the COVID-19 injured list. (Boston Red Sox on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The Red Sox re-signed Plawecki this offseason, bringing him back for his second year in Boston and seventh in the majors. He impressed last season, slashing .341/.393/.463 with 17 RBI on 28 hits over the course of 24 games. He tallied five walks and 14 strikeouts. It's worth noting that Plawecki's placement on the COVID-19 IL does not necessarily mean that he tested positive for the virus.
