Texas Rangers reliever Demarcus Evans sustained a lat injury during the offseason so he won't be able to throw off a mound until mid-March, according to Levi Weaver of The Athletic. (Levi Weaver on Twitter)
The 24-year-old made his major league debut with Texas last season and looked sharp, despite only throwing four innings. The lat injury will set him back but he has the ability to start the year on the major league roster after posting a 0.90 ERA with 100 strikeouts over 60 innings between High-A and Double-A back in 2019. He's a name to keep an eye on.
