Mitch Moreland inks one-year deal with the Athletics

The Athletics signed free agent first baseman Mitch Moreland to a one-year, $2.25 million contract on Thursday. (Jeff Passan on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Moreland had his $3 million club option for 2021 declined by the Padres during the offseason. He played well for the Red Sox last season before being acquired by San Diego ahead of the August trade deadline. The 35-year-old slashed .255/.342/.551 with 10 home runs, 29 RBI and 22 runs scored across 152 plate appearances in 2020 for the Red Sox/Padres. Moreland should see close to everyday at bats between first base and designated hitter for the A’s in 2021.
