Fantasy Impact:
This means that, without the universal DH, Carpenter will mostly be a backup player in 2021. He's blocked at first base by Paul Goldschmidt and at third base by Nolan Arenado. He could see a handful of starts at second base this season, but he's a defensive liability there. Carpenter has virtually no fantasy value entering spring training.
