Jimmy Nelson (back) mentioned as a starter by Dave Roberts

Jimmy Nelson, who missed the entire 2020 season after undergoing back surgery, was included in the list of eight potential starting pitchers for the Dodgers when manager Dave Roberts spoke with reporters on Thursday. (Eric Stephen on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Even though the Dodgers have eight possible starting pitchers they won't employ an eight-man rotation, obviously. Nelson has only pitched 22 innings over the last three seasons due to injuries. His last season of any significance was in 2017 when he went 12-6 with a 3.49 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 199 strikeouts over 175 1/3 innings for the Brewers. The big right-hander will have some pretty stiff competition to beat out if he wants to crack the starting rotation this year.
