Austin Slater, who dealt with a flexor strain in his right elbow during the 2020 season, received a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection in his right arm during the offseason after hitting a plateau in his rehab, per Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic. (Andrew Baggarly on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Slater told reporters that he hasn't had a setback since he got the injection and he's currently making throws from the outfield. This is an encouraging sign for Slater as he played a lot of DH last season due to the elbow issues. He dealt with multiple injuries, in addition to the elbow in 2020, which limited him to just 85 at-bats but he slashed .282/.408/.506 with five home runs and eight stolen bases. Barring his health, he's a sneaky late-round draft choice in fantasy drafts.
