Hunter Dozier agrees to four-year extension with the Royals

The Royals and Hunter Dozier have agreed on a four-year, $25 million contract extension, which includes a fifth-year option for $10 million. (Jeff Passan onTwitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Dozier had a down 2020 season, but the Royals are obviously buying into what they saw in 2019, when Dozier slashed .279/.348/.522. His Statcast data from last year seemed like an outlier, so it's a fair bet that Dozier bounces back this season to something closer to what he looked like in 2019. With the soon-to-be addition of third base eligibility, Dozier makes a fine late-round selection this year, and his dynasty stock is trending up with his extension.
