Brandon Belt (illness) is 'wiped out' due to non-COVID related illness

by Jon Mathisen | Mon, Mar 1st 8:09pm EST

San Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt is "wiped out" from his non-COVID-19 related illness, according to manager Gabe Kapler. (Mark W. Sanchez on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Kapler added that Belt is getting better but he's still lacking energy and that there is no target date for him to begin workouts. It's unclear how long Belt has been sick and remains to be seen how much longer he will be out. He's been recovering from offseason heel surgery as well so this is another setback for the first baseman. If he doesn't start workouts soon then it's doubtful he'll be ready for Opening Day.
