This comes soon after it was announced that Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez will miss a significant amount of time with a broken finger. Houston is about $13 million under the luxury tax threshold according to Heyman, which will play a factor in how much they are willing to spend on him. Odorizzi only started four games in last year's shortened season, struggling to the tune of a 6.59 ERA.
