Jarred Kelenic (knee) taking BP on Sunday

by Jon Mathisen | Braves Correspondent | Sun, Mar 14th 12:03pm EDT

Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic, who is dealing with a strained abductor muscle in his knee, is slated to take some batting practice on Sunday, per beat writer Ryan Divish. (Ryan Divish on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

All reports indicate that Kelenic has been recovering quickly from the knee strain and the fact he's taking swings on Sunday would corroborate that point even further. The team will likely see how he responds to batting practice but this is a step in the right direction as the highly-touted prospect is working his way towards his major league debut. He's still likely to begin the season at the Mariners' alternate training site but should get called up within the month of April if all goes well.
