Yasmani Grandal may hit second in the White Sox lineup during the regular season, according to manager Tony La Russa. (Scott Merkin on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Grandal is currently the fifth ranked catcher in the expert consensus rankings, and hitting second would likely give him more at-bats than the four catchers ahead of him. Considering the strength at the top of the White Sox lineup, batting second would also mean increased lineup protection for Grandal. Grandal may not leapfrog any of the catchers currently in front of him in the rankings because of this announcement, but batting second in the regular season would certainly boost Grandal's fantasy value.
