Josh Jung has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his left foot that will require surgery. Jung will have the surgery done in Texas and will have a screw put in his foot. (Levi Weaver on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

This is tough news for the Rangers' top prospect. It is estimated that it could take 6-8 weeks for Jung to recover from the foot surgery, but the Rangers indicated he may only miss a couple weeks of playing time. The Rangers likely won't rush Jung back and will exercise caution in his rehab. As long as there are no major setbacks, Jung should still make his major league debut in 2021 -- the question now becomes when.
