Salvador Perez inks four-year deal with the Royals

Jon Heyman of the MLB Network is reporting that the Royals and C Salvador Perez have agreed on a four-year, $82 million deal, including a team option. (Jon Heyman on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Perez signed a record deal with the Royals, surpassing Alex Gordon’s $72 million contract. His $20.5 AAV will start in 2022 and the deal includes a $2 million buyout in 2026. Perez won the AL Comeback Player of the Year Award in 2020 after missing all of 2019 recovering from Tommy John surgery. The 30-year-old slashed .333/.353/.633 with 11 home runs, 32 RBI, 22 runs scored and one stolen base over 156 plate appearances last season. Perez is a surefire top-3 catcher in fantasy and currently second among all backstops in the latest expert consensus rankings.
