Brewers reliever Josh Hader will work as a traditional closer in 2021, according to Milwaukee manager Craig Counsell on Tuesday. (Adam McCalvy on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Hader is arguably the most dominant reliever in all of baseball, but there have been some rumblings over the last few months that he could be used in a multi-inning role prior to the ninth inning this season, resulting in fewer saves for fantasy managers in traditional formats. This speculation has been fueled by the presence of fellow dominant reliever Devin Williams, but the Brewers are apparently content to keep Hader in a traditional closer role for this season. He should continue to be the first reliever off the board in fantasy drafts over the next week.
