Kevin Gausman named Opening Day starter for the Giants

Gausman will be given the Opening Day nod after an impressive debut year in San Francisco. Gausman pitched 59.2 innings in 2020, with a 3.62 ERA. Gausman was also in the 88th percentile in strikeout rate and in the 75th percentile in walk rate in 2020. Gausman is currently the 38th ranked SP in the latest expert consensus rankings. Considering his ratios from last year, and adding in the fact that he plays half his games in one of the more pitcher friendly ballparks in baseball, Gausman could wind up being a steal in many drafts.
