The Kansas City Royals have placed SS Adalberto Mondesi on the 10-day IL with a right oblique strain. (Alec Lewis on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Mondesi is projected to be a top-10 fantasy SS this season, so his absence to start the year will be quite the disappointment for fantasy managers. The Royals are recalling Nicky Lopez from their alternate site to occupy Mondesi's spot in the meantime.
