Daniel Bard records save on Opening Day

by Andersen Pickard | Rockies Correspondent | Thu, Apr 1st 8:25pm EDT

Rockies closer Daniel Bard tossed one inning of scoreless baseball en route to earning the save.

Fantasy Impact:

Bard has been a fun player to monitor over the past year. He was named the NL Comeback Player of the Year in 2020 and won the closer job a few weeks ago. Now, he gets the save as the Rockies win game No. 1 over the Dodgers, 8-5. He allowed a triple to lead off the ninth before walking Chris Taylor. He recorded a strikeout but then hit Will Smith to load the bases. Bard settled in and finished the game with a strikeout and lineout.
