Marco Gonzales records no-decision in Opening Day start

by Ari Koslow | Pirates Correspondent | Fri, Apr 2nd 2:05am EDT

Seattle starting pitcher Marco Gonzales went six innings in the Mariners extra innings Opening Day win, allowing five runs (all earned) on eight hits with two strikeouts and three walks.

Fantasy Impact:

It was not a pretty start to the season for Gonzales, allowing three solo home runs including two in the second inning to Evan Longoria and Buster Posey. Gonzales just did not seem to have his control all game, constantly falling behind in counts which the Giants took advantage of. The Mariners were able to plate six runs in the eighth inning, saving Gonzales from the loss. He will look to rebound in his next start.
