Donovan Solano collects three hits in victory

by Jon Mathisen | Padres Correspondent | Sat, Apr 3rd 12:06pm EDT

Donovan Solano went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI, two runs scored, and a strikeout in the Giants 6-3 win over the Mariners on Friday.

Fantasy Impact:

Solano broke up a 3-3 tie in the top of the seventh inning when he smacked a Drew Steckenrider fastball down the left-field line to score Brandon Crawford and Mike Yastrzemski. He would come around to score on an Evan Longoria single later in the frame, which would put the game out of reach for Seattle. Solano has experienced a quiet career resurgence in San Francisco over the last few seasons. He's put up a .328 batting average across 405 at-bats between 2019-20 and is off to a hot start this season with five hits, including two doubles in his first two games. He could have a big season in San Francisco as long as he stays near the top of the batting order.
