Nick Ahmed was placed on the 10-day IL due to right knee inflammation, according to the Diamondbacks. (Arizona Diamondbacks on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Ahmed struggled with knee soreness late in spring training, and the DBacks finally made the decision to put him on the 10-day IL, retroactive to March 31st. The DBacks recalled Geraldo Perdomo from the alternate training site, so it's clear Arizona wants to see what their 3rd ranked prospect can do while Ahmed is out. If Ahmed is back soon his job should still be there waiting for him, but Perdomo could force the DBacks to make a difficult decision at SS if he breaks out in Ahmed's absence.
