Trevor Rosenthal: 'surgery on the table' for shoulder injury

Fantasy Impact:
It was reported on Tuesday that Rosenthal had seen a doctor who specializes in surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome, so Melvin's comments aren't exactly out of left field. Unfortunately, if Rosenthal does need surgery, it will almost certainly sideline him for the season and, as we've seen with pitchers like Matt Harvey, could have a significant impact on his career. Reading the tea leaves, it seems increasingly unlikely that Rosenthal will pitch this year, and his fantasy managers should try to secure either Jake Diekman or Sergio Romo to accrue at least some saves from Oakland.
