Greg Holland saddled with the loss Wednesday

by Brad Camara | Wed, Apr 7th 8:49pm EDT

Greg Holland (0-1) allowed two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out one across 1/3 of an inning during Tuesday’s 4-2 loss to the Indians. He earned his first loss of the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Holland entered a tie game in the bottom of the eighth inning and was roughed up in Wednesday’s loss to the Indians. He walked Ben Gamel, but ended up striking out Cleveland’s next batter Cesar Hernandez. Holland surrendered the deciding two-run homer to Indians star 3B Jose Ramirez. Holland yielded two more hits before getting the hook. The 35-year-old is the favorite to be the Royals closer, but manager Mike Matheny could go to Jesse Hahn or Josh Staumont in the ninth if Holland continues to struggle.
