Mike Soroka shut down with shoulder discomfort

by Mike Maher | White Sox Correspondent | Wed, Apr 7th 9:16pm EDT

Braves starting pitcher Mike Soroka felt right shoulder discomfort while pitching at the team's alternate training site on Tuesday and is being shut down for two weeks. He is dealing with right shoulder inflammation, but there is no structural damage, according to MLB.com's Mark Bowman. (Mark Bowman on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Soroka has been working his wake back from a torn Achilles that cost him most of the 2020 season, and he was expected to make his 2021 debut as early as mid-April. Now, it seems that he is out until at least May and possibly longer depending on how his shoulder responds to two weeks of rest. He is still worth a stash in formats where roster space allows.
