Sale is on track to return from Tommy John surgery sometime in the middle of the season. The Red Sox haven’t announced a specific timeline and Sale has yet to throw off a mound. Sale is currently 77th among all pitchers in the latest expert consensus rankings, but that number could drop if his return to the mound is delayed.
