Corey Knebel grabs the save on Friday for LA

by Jon Mathisen | White Sox Correspondent | Fri, Apr 9th 7:59pm EDT

RHP Corey Knebel picked up his second save of the season on Friday when he worked a scoreless ninth inning with three strikeouts in a 1-0 win over the Nationals.

Fantasy Impact:

The Dodgers and Nationals were locked up in a pitcher's duel all afternoon as starters Walker Buehler and Joe Ross both did their thing. It's worth noting that the Dodgers had the day off on Thursday and that it was Knebel and not Kenley Jansen who got the save opportunity in the close game. Knebel shut the door on the Nats with three strikeouts to preserve the 1-0 win for LA. He's now 2-for-2 on save chances this year with a 0.00 ERA, 0.30 WHIP, and 6:1 K/BB ratio over 3 1/3 innings. We could still be looking at a committee in Los Angeles but Knebel is most definitely worth a speculative add as he's looked the best of all the Dodgers' relievers thus far.
