Ha-Seong Kim hits first MLB home run on Saturday

by Matt Flipi | Padres Correspondent | Sun, Apr 11th 12:32am EDT

Ha-Seong Kim went 1-2 with a walk and a home run in the Padres' win over the Rangers on Saturday. The home run was the first of Kim's MLB career.

Fantasy Impact:

Kim has been filling in at SS since Fernando Tatis Jr. went down with a shoulder injury. Kim crushed a hanging Jordan Lyles curveball off the left field foul pole in the 5th inning of Saturday's game. Kim showed solid power for a middle infielder during his career in the KBO, hitting 30 home runs during the 2020 season. Kim is hitting just .200 on the young season, but he has shown a good eye as well as the ability to put the bat on the ball consistently. This won't be the last time Kim flashes his power this year, and he should see continued playing time until Tatis returns.
