Eduardo Escobar homers in third straight game on Saturday

by Jon Mathisen | Sun, Apr 11th 11:52am EDT

Third baseman Eduardo Escobar went 2-for-4 with a single, a home run, and a pair of runs scored as the D-Backs took down the Reds by a score of 8-3 on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact:

Escobar blasted his third home run of the year in the seventh inning off Sal Romano to put the D-Backs up 8-2. He's now homered in three consecutive games. He also picked up an RBI single earlier in the contest. Escobar got off to a painfully slow start this season, he was slashing .048/.048/.048 back on April 7 but the recent three-game hitting streak has elevated his batting line to .188/.235/.500. Those aren't respectable numbers other than the slugging percentage but he's starting to pick it up at the plate, which is a good sign for formerly frustrated fantasy managers.
