Marlins reliever Yimi Garcia tossed 1 1/3 shutout innings to earn the win in extra innings against the Atlanta Braves on Monday. The win brings him to 1-1 on the season.
Garcia is the favorite to close out games in Miami right now after Anthony Bass seemingly lost the job due to poor performance. Bass entered the game in the seventh inning on Monday, while Garcia entered a tie game in the ninth and then closed out the win in the 10th inning after the Marlins took the lead. Through six appearances, Garcia has a 1.42 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, five strikeouts, and a 1-1 record with one save over 6 1/3 innings.
