Justus Sheffield throws gem in game one of Tuesday's doubleheader

by Ari Koslow | Wed, Apr 14th 1:37am EDT

Justus Sheffield took the no-decision in game one of the Mariners doubleheader Tuesday against Baltimore, allowing two runs (both earned) on three hits over six innings with five strikeouts and two walks.

Fantasy Impact:

Rafael Montero blew the save in the seventh inning so Sheffield was not able to earn the win, but it was a tremendous performance for him. He threw just 77 pitches, so some will question why Mariners manager Scott Servais did not have him finish the game. His lone blemish came on a two-run home run hit by Ramon Urias in the fifth inning, but Sheffield was able to bounce back with a 1-2-3 sixth inning.
