Alex Cobb still not cleared for bullpen session

by Jamison Malasko | Giants Correspondent | Sun, Apr 19th 11:31am EDT

Rays starter Alex Cobb told reporters he is throwing pain-free, but is still unsure when he'll be cleared to throw a bullpen session. Cobb has been limited to playing catch as he recovers from forearm tendinitis. "We're on track for what we thought," Cobb said. "There's been no setbacks. It's just a lengthy process before it gets fully healed and then we're good to go." (cbssports.com)

Fantasy Impact:

The Rays expected Cobb to be out until May and it looks like that is still the plan. The Rays have been making due the last two weeks starting Chris Archer, Nathan Karns, and Jake Odorizzi while having the fourth and fifth starters filled in with spot starts. The good news for the Rays is Drew Smyly is on his way back this week.
