Eduardo Escobar hits fifth home run of the season in win over Nats

by Jon Mathisen | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Fri, Apr 16th 11:23am EDT

Third baseman Eduardo Escobar went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, two runs scored, and a walk in the D-Backs 11-6 win over the Nationals on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact:

Escobar went back-to-back with Carson Kelly in the top of the first inning off Nationals' starter Patrick Corbin. The D-Backs offense spotted Merrill Kelly 10 runs in the first two innings. Escobar's counting stats are quite impressive to begin the season with five home runs, nine RBI, and a stolen base but he's still hitting just .240 with a .283 OBP. He began the year in a 1-for-21 slump so he still has some work to do to improve his rate stats.
