Brandon McCarthy was in complete control shutting out the Rockies on Sunday. He allowed three hits, walked two, and struck out six. 64 of 92 pitches were thrown for strikes.
Fantasy Impact:
Pick up McCarthy if you haven't already. His strikeout rate is excellent and he rarely walks batters. He is susceptible to the long ball from time-to-time, but usually the damage is limited because the bases are empty. His arsenal is potent: 95 mph fastball, cutter, sinker, curveball, and changeup. The risk/reward is definitely worth it as McCarthy can help in all pitching categories. The Dodgers are an excellent team with a good defense so wins could be plentiful.
